Plans for 2020 COVID-19 Stay-at-Home Learning
*NEW* End of Year Pick-ups and Graduations - May 19th
Please see below for an archive of other previous email communications that have been sent via Infinite Campus.
Dear FCA Families,
Please mark your calendars for our end of year pick-ups, drop-offs, and graduations! We will have more details coming your way next week, so continue to watch your classroom communications closely.
Classroom teachers will be present during the times listed below. They are SO excited to see their students! If you have multiple children, you can choose which date and time you would like to come to FCA, or you can come to each grade level’s assigned times. Please note, classroom teachers will only be present during their grade level time and date in order to comply with CDC guidelines.
The times listed below will also be when we are collecting library books and any other items that need to be returned. You do NOT need to return whiteboards and dry erase markers. We will have more information about technology return in a later communication.
We will be passing out personal items, classroom specific items, and report cards. Please note that report cards can only be handed to legal parents/guardians. If you will have someone other than the legal parent/guardian picking up for your child, we will need a written note giving permission for us to give them your child’s report card.
Lost and found will also be available in the parking lot for viewing and collection of items. Finally, we are planning a no contact, picture taking area for your family to utilize if you wish.
June 1: Kinder and 5th Grade Graduation

We would LOVE families to decorate their car for their child! After your child graduates, you can choose to go into the parking lot to honk and cheer for other students from your car.

Letter from Principal Rapp - April 15th
Hello Fort Caspar Academy,
Virtual learning is up and running! Thank you all so much for your understanding and support as we move through new ways to provide instruction. Below are some topics that I wanted to share with you. As always, please let me know if you have any questions.
Parent Requests for Teachers for the 2020-2021 School Year
Please write a letter to me (Nicole Rapp) stating which TWO (1st choice; 2nd choice) teachers you would like to request for your child and why. These letters will be due April 24 at 3:00 p.m. Letters can be mailed to the school or emailed to me at nicole_rapp@natronaschools.org. Late letters will not be accepted due to the complexity of making class rosters and ensuring families have the information identifying next year’s teacher included on their fourth quarter report card.
Calendar Changes
Quarter 3 – ends April 17 (extends 2 weeks)
Report cards will be mailed home April 22
Quarter 4 – starts April 20 (7 week quarter) ends June 8
Newsletters
Newsletters will continue to be electronically delivered on their normal days. Newsletters will contain grade level specific items as well as art, music, and PE updates.
Instructional Minutes Per Week
K-5: 60 minutes of Math (20 Stride Academy + 40 other)
K-5: 60 minutes of ELA (20 Stride Academy + 40 other)
3-5: 30 minutes of Science
K-5: 15 minutes of Art, Music, and PE
K-5: 20 minutes of OPTIONAL Library
*Grade levels are also providing additional enrichment optional activities and assignments in addition to the above minutes.
Technology Support
If you need technical support for your student’s device, please follow these steps.
- Contact your teacher during his/her office hours
- If your teacher is unable to help with the technical problem, call 253-5215 for more support.
- You can also create a technical help ticket at https://lf-web-portal.ncsd.k12.wy.us/Forms/IT-Help-Desk
Attendance
You do not need to call if your student is going to be absent. Students are given several opportunities to engage in learning each week during scheduled times and during unscheduled times. Teachers are tracking student engagement, and we are using that to keep attendance. Attendance will be marked weekly and not daily. If we have any attendance or engagement concerns, we will contact you individually. If you have questions about attendance, please let Nicole Rapp know via the contact information below.
Communications for Whole School
Whole school communications will be emailed through Infinite Campus. Some families are not receiving these emails. All whole school communications are also being posted on the website (fortcasparacademy.com).
Reaching Principal Nicole Rapp
The best way to reach me is via email (nicole_rapp@natronaschools.org). You can also leave a message on the main line (253-3400). Messages are checked at least once daily, Monday through Friday.
I have been so impressed with the kindness, understanding, and generosity shown by the Fort Caspar Academy Community. It is such an honor to be a part of something this wonderful.
Thank you for ALL you do!
