Fort Caspar is built on the enthusiasm and generosity of many volunteers. There are many ways to get involved!
Activities
We need parents like you in order to have events such as Polar Express Night and Last Blast! If you would like to be a part of planning and executing fun events for our students, please contact our volunteer coordinator!
Classroom Volunteers
Classroom teachers have many opportunities for helping in the classroom including but not limited to: helping with centers and class parties, sharpening pencils, wiping down desks, and copying in the workroom. Please contact your child’s teacher to help out with these opportunities.
Extra-Curricular Activity Coaches and Leaders
Do you have a special talent you’d like to share with our students? We are always in need of coaches for sports teams and clubs at FCA! Whether it’s Spelling Bee, Student Council, volleyball, Lego Robotics….or even if you’d like to start a club, we’d love to have you here helping our students learn and grow.
Fundraising
School fundraising has been around for decades. It is an essential way that we sponsor activities, clubs, events and even supplement our curricular materials. It helps us support teachers, enhance student learning, and foster home and school communication. Some of our fundraising efforts in the past have included Box Tops, Fun Run, Crowd Funding, and more.
Governing Council
The Governing Council is the governing board of the PTO. Governing Council members represent the interests of PTO members and implement and maintain policies. Council members are expected to attend all PTO meetings and be actively involved in at least one committee at FCA.
Library
Mrs. Blakemore is looking for parents to help in several different capacities in the library:
Help during your child’s library class – check-in/check-out books, clean, and re-shelve books.
Clean and re-shelve books intermittently.
Help during Scholastic Book Fair – Fall and Spring. Set-up, cashier, and take down the book fair.
Playground Parents
Students enjoy having parents at recess to coach a game or just spend time with them and their friends! Please refer to the bell schedule to see your child’s recess times.
Staff Support
We are very fortunate to have such an amazing group of teachers and staff at FCA! The Staff Support Committee gives thanks to the staff in a variety of ways. If you like to bake, cook or create, you should consider helping with staff support functions.
Take-Home Library
The ‘Take-Home Library’ provides books for Kindergarten and First Grade students to take home Monday through Thursday. These books are then brought back to school the following day. Throughout the year, volunteers listen to students read in order to determine their reading level. Once a level is determined, volunteers collect books from the previous day and find new books for each child that are appropriate for their reading level. Volunteers are needed in the morning Monday through Thursday. Please consider donating one or more mornings for this worthwhile opportunity!
